Recommendations on the use of Cloth Face Masks:

The CDC now recommends “cloth face coverings” to slow the spread of COVID-19. Masks are not a magical force field - not even the medical disposable type are! Here are the CDC recommendations for how to handle cloth masks to reduce or avoid onward contamination:

• Avoid touching the mask while using it; if you do, clean your hands with an alcohol-based hand rub or soap and water.
• Replace the mask with a fresh one as soon as it is damp.
• To remove the mask: remove it from behind (do not touch the front of mask)
• The CDC says that reusable face coverings should be machine washable and that they be “routinely washed” in a washing machine.

Something as simple as a pen pre-COVID-19 was never considered to be a risk factor and was often shared and used by many in it's life cycle. Obviously this is likely to change as we move forward in our new working environment, but during our busy working days this could quite easily be overlooked so the antibacterial agent within the plastic would pretty much eliminate any risk of onward contamination.
